Why Study Japanese?

I have been interested in Japanese culture ever since the first time I visited Japan 13 years ago. Since then, I have been watching Japanese animes and occasionally reading some mangas. When I visited Tokyo, Matsumoto, and Karuizawa (both cities are in the Nagano Prefecture) this past summer vacation, I loved the vibes these cities offered and decided I would start learning Japanese seriously to further my knowledge in its culture and make my future travels to Japan easier.

The past few weeks have been awesome. It was challenging at times, but I enjoyed and appreciated the learning process. I realized how much I've learned in such a short period of time. I look forward in starting Kanji because it would be somewhat easier since I am fluent in Chinese. Okamoto Sensei made the process very fun and engaging. I appreciate her energy and guidance. The students in this class are also very supportive and understanding. I am very excited for the coming semester with everyone!

  2. Hello, Daisy! I agree that Okamoto-sensei and our peers have made the class a great deal of fun. At any rate, Japan must've made quite an impression on you from those two visits. I also think it's a beautiful place, from what I've seen of it. Also, I think these pictures are neat; they're nicely framed. See you in class tomorrow!

It's such a cool place and I'm sure everything we're learning will help us make more memorable trips in the future. 1. Yeah I loved Nagano. The first time I visited was with my parents, when I was still a kid. We visited a friend of my dad’s. I guess it was a coincidental visit. :P
